OASIS is a place of hope in the middle of life’s hardest deserts – PRISON. Oasis is a source of encouragement, healing, and connection to those who need it most. Our mission is to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ with those who may not yet know Him, strengthen new believers in their faith, and inspire seasoned Christians to grow deeper in their walk.

Rooted in the call to serve others (Matthew 25:34–36; Hebrews 13:3), OASIS reaches incarcerated men and women and the families who love them. Through our weekly radio program – hosted by former inmate Pastor Lonnie Provo – we create a powerful connection between those behind prison walls and those on the outside.

Families call in to share messages of love, encouragement, and even the everyday moments that matter most. Though separated by distance and time, these voices bring comfort, healing, and renewed strength. Listeners across the country – and beyond – tune in to experience the power of faith, forgiveness, and restoration.

More than a program, OASIS is a lifeline – where stories are shared, hearts are restored, and hope is renewed. Because no matter the circumstance, with Jesus, there is always hope.

Pastor Lonnie Provo

My name is Lonnie Provo, and in 1988, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ while serving a 25-year sentence within the Texas Prison System. I was 25 years old at this time.

My first experience with the Texas Prison System was at age 18. Even though I was raised in a working-class home, we were not a Christian home, and in my late teens I began to rebel.

After a series of wrong choices, including drugs, I ended up in prison from age 18 to 24.  This early experience made me bitter and angry. I had no love for America or the Christian way of life. I was ashamed of my race.  This led me to thinking that the Bible  was the White man’s Bible – not the True Word of God, for everyone. This is what prison life did to me. I didn’t know how to  accept what I had done to myself. While in prison I began throwing Bibles in trash cans. I began hating God. I would spell His name dog instead God. That is how far gone I was.

I was released from prison in 1979, of hate and no plan for doing anything for my life. I grew up in prison. After being set free I was considered an adult, but inside I am still 18 and lost and right after my 25th birthday and I was sent back to prison with  a 25 year sentence.

In 1980 God spoke to me through the poem “Foot Prints in the Sand.” That poem changed my life. Then he led me to read “Where Flies Don’t Land” the life story of an ex-con named Jerry Gram.   Those 2 encounters with God changed my life.

I fell in love with Jesus Christ while incarcerated and made it my mission to serve God in every possible while on that prison unit. How could I become the Chaplain’s clerk. How could complete College while in prison. How could I become an Evangelist for Jesus Christ.?

Fast forward to today; I have been a volunteer for the Texas Prison system for thirty plus years. I am a licensed and ordained Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a part of The Bridges to Life program inside the Texas Prison system. I hold Church services in multiple prison in Texas. I work in halfway houses  as mentoring men when they are released from prisons. I  minister to inmates through writing letters and their families while they are in prison.

Almost 15 years ago God gave me a radio program, Oasis Radio, so I could encourage and equip inmates behind prison walls . My Brother in Christ, Lee Boykin and are now work together to minister to those in need. We thank God for what He is allowing us to do.

Out of prison for 38 years.

Lee Boykin
Lee Boykin, Sr.

My name is Lee Boykin, Sr, and I serve with a heart devoted to restoration, healing, and hope. As an Ordained Elder in the Body of Christ, I minister with both spiritual authority and a gentle, compassionate presence. My call to prison ministry is deeply personal – I have loved ones who are currently incarcerated, and I understand the emotional, spiritual, and relational weight that incarceration places on individuals and their loved ones. This personal connection fuels my passion to show those behind the walls that they are not forgotten and that God’s grace reaches them right where they are.

I am also a Certified Christian Counselor, holding credentials from the National Association of Christian Counselors and the American Association of Christian Counselors. This training allows me to walk alongside others with empathy, wisdom, and guidance rooted in Christian principles. Whether I am offering encouragement, sharing testimony, or ministering the Word of God, my heart is to remind every person I encounter that no life is beyond God’s reach and no story is beyond His power to redeem.

Through mentorship and prayers, I strive to uplift the incarcerated and help them rediscover their identity, purpose, and hope in Christ. My life and ministry stand as a testimony that God still restores, God still heals, and God still writes new beginnings.
